The Opportunity:
As an Industrial Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing the equipment that keeps our operations running safely and efficiently. In this hands-on position, you will apply your mechanical skills to troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and support continuous production in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

How You Will Impact Smurfit Westrock:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and utility systems to minimize downtime.
  • Help ensure equipment operates within OEM standards and production requirements.
  • Support a strong safety culture by following all safety procedures and completing required pre-task analyses.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that enhance productivity, quality, and operational performance.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Previous industrial maintenance or mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to operate maintenance-related systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a continuous-run manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, hours, and overtime as business needs require.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the shift.
  • Ability to frequently use hands and arms to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Ability to lift and move 50+ pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
